COVID-19 UPDATE

Kia ora koutou katoa

We are all behaving differently and working collectively to eliminate Covid-19.

Synlait’s goal is to keep our people safe, keep their families safe, keep our facilities running, and keep Covid-19 away – not just for us, but for all New Zealanders, and our friends in the global community.

Here in New Zealand the Government imposed an Alert Level 4 Lockdown, which came into effect on Thursday 26 March, to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Synlait was classed as an ‘essential service’ during this lockdown. This meant we could stay open because the New Zealand Government saw certain domestic and export products, such as food, as essential during this period.

On Tuesday 28 April, New Zealand moved to Alert Level 3 and Synlait continued to operate as an ‘essential service’. Given food safety and quality are core to Synlait’s DNA, additional onsite measures implemented ahead of the Alert Level 4 Lockdown remained in place under Alert Level 3. These include increased site security and sanitation and cleaning controls, daily declarations as a prerequisite for anyone entering our sites and physical distancing measures across production processes and supply chains, including break-out areas. On Thursday 14 May, New Zealand moved to Alert Level 2.  These measures continue to remain in place.

Driven by our purpose of Doing Milk Differently For A Healthier World we want to reassure you that we have introduced additional measures to put Synlait in a strong position to operate under the New Zealand Government guidelines for the foreseeable future.
