2014 - Synlait Milk is named the overall Supreme Winner and the Champion Global Operator for medium / large enterprises at the 2014 Champion Canterbury Business Awards.
2013 – Synlait Milk is awarded the NZCTA (New Zealand China Trade Association) Supreme Award and the DLA Phillips Fox Award for successful investment with China, inward or outward at the HSBC NZCTA China Business Awards. Synlait Milk was also awarded the Champion Global Operator (medium / large enterprise) at the 2013 Champion Canterbury Business Awards.
2012 - Synlait Milk scooped the Champion Global Operator (medium / large enterprise) at the 2012 Champion Canterbury Business Awards and the Agri-Business Award in the Sensational Selwyn Awards.
2011 - Synlait set a new record for itself by making the Deloitte Fast 50 index for the fourth consecutive year.
2010 - Synlait was awarded the 12th fastest growing company in New Zealand in the Deloitte Fast 50.
2009 - Synlait was awarded Fastest Growing Manufacturer (Canterbury and Upper South Island), and 7th Fastest Growing Company in New Zealand in the Deloitte Fast 50. It was also awarded the Canterbury Large Emerging Exporter of the Year in the Air New Zealand Cargo, Canterbury Export Awards.
2008 - Synlait was awarded Fastest Growing New Entrant (Canterbury and Upper South Island), Fastest Growing Employer and 3rd Fastest Growing Company in New Zealand in the Deloitte Fast 50.
The Synlait Milk facility processes more than 550 million litres of milk each year. It is capable of processing 3.2 million litres of raw milk per day, from which up to 340 metric tonnes of milk powder can be produced.
We have three leading-edge milk powder dryers, including a purpose-built infant formula facility, the largest and most sophisticated in the Southern Hemisphere. It can process up to 6-7 tonnes of infant milk powder per hour.
Almost all of our milk suppliers are located within an 80km radius of Synlait. With an average herd size of 750 they have supplied a 300% increase in milk volume since manufacturing began in 2008. Milk suppliers are typically contracted on a rolling three year basis.
We employ a staff of over 220 people who are the driving force behind the organisations success. Our people have extensive experience and expertise across all areas of our supply chain. From farming and farm management to manufacturing and product development, through to sales and customer service. This expertise means we guarantee world-class quality products.
FY2014 - We posted a $19.6 million net profit after tax for the year ending 31 July 2014.
FY2013 - We posted a $11.5 million net profit after tax for the year ending 31 July 2013.
FY2012 – We posted a $6.3 million net profit after tax for the year ending 31 July 2012.
